Odiyan is an upcoming Malayalam movie starring Mohanlal. The movie narrates the story of ‘Odiyan’, who is in Kerala folklore, men believed to have ability of shapeshifting. The much awaited movie is directed by V.A Shrikumar Menon, this is his first directorial venture. Shrikumar Menon is basically an Ad film maker.
‘Odiyan’ is written by Harikrishnan. Harikrishnan is a senior Journalist of Malayalam Manorama. It’s produced by Antony Perumbavoor, in the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Antony Perumbavoor is one of the most successful producer in the Malayalam industry.

In this movie Mohanlal character name is Maanikyan. Maanikyan is an Odiyan who can race on four legs and crawl through the muddy slippery paddy fields. Odiyan would assume the shape of a bull or a cat or even rocks and lay on the route that the victim routinely uses at night. Odiyan ruled the darkness of night in the Malabar region before the pre – electrification era in kerala.
National award – winning stunt choreographer Peter Hein will be helming lalettan’s Odiyan film, who has previously worked with Mohanlal in the fantasy drama Pulimurukan. In this movie Manju Warrier plays the female lead role. Innocent, Siddique,Nandu, Narain, Kailash, Manju Joshi are other supporting actors. Odiyan which is set to hit theaters on December 14th.
