Iniya real name is Shruthi Sawant. She better known by her stage name Iniya is an actress,who works in the south Indian film Industries(Tamil & Malayalam). She is famous to Malayalam film industry through her roles in movies Ayal and Swarna Kaduva.
Early Life
Iniya was born on 21st January 1988 in Thiruvanthapuram Keral. Her father is Muslim S.Salahuddin & mother is Hindu Savithri.She has an elder sister and younger brother Swathi & Sravan.Her sister also working in Malayalam film Industry.She did her schooling from Amritha Vidyalya and Manakkad Karthika Thirunnal High School .She did BA course by Correspondence
Career
She acted in several Malayalam television serials,short films and tele films as child artist. When she was in fourth Standard she started acting in the telefilm ‘Koottilekku’.She won the Miss Trivandrum title in 2015 later she did modeling and showing up in TV ads including number of Malayalam award winning art films. The name of film is ‘Saira, Dalamarmarangal & Umma.She played important role in short film’ The Sacred Face’which is based on story of child abuse directed by Rajesh Touchriver.
She entered in tamil film industry in 2010 with film’Padagasaalai’later she signed more films which is unreleased .She then do supporting role as the sister of cheran’s character in Mysskin’s puzzle thriller film ‘Yuddham Sai’.In the year 2011 she did movie’Vaagai Sooda vaa’ for which director A.Sarkunam marked her the female lead character.for which she changed her screen name to Iniya. She nominated twice for the film ‘Vaagai Sooda vaa’ for best debut actress in in Vijay film award & Film fare awards.She awarded as best debut actress for the film ‘Vaagai soda vaa’in Edison award show. She become judge in reality show ‘Lets dance season1’she appeared in many tamil & malyalam as guest appearance. She did multilingual film as character Ramya in 2015 for Tamil,Telugu & Kannada as ‘Karai Oram,leela & Alone.
